Weird thought I had the other day.

Rock music has been around since the early 50s. I have been a rock music fan since ... let's say 1981. So I have been a fan for about half as long as it has existed.

The Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin albums I listened to when I was in high school in the 80s felt a lot more distant in time than my beloved 80s indie rock bands like Sonic Youth or Dinosaur Jr feel to me now. But the math tells me that is an evil trick of psychology.
