Longer comments:

Short Term 12
oh, wow. powerful, emotional stuff.
come for brie larson, stay for the kids.
based on the director's personal experiences, which is quite believable, the film feels very genuine

The Wind Rises

beautiful movie. not much plot. political context somewhat regrettable.

a fable about the obsession of art and creativity.

Her

Gravity

Prisoners

Captain Phillips

Philomena
very moving. almost cried.
judy dench - outstanding.
nice to see good acting.

The World's End

Lee Daniels' The Butler

Dallas Buyers Club

Saving Mr. Banks
went in with low expectations. which were surpassed almost immediately! sentimental but not lugubrious.
should have known to trust emma thompson.
colin farrell very good here.
also liked b.j. novak, more than in other things.
made me want to see mary poppins again, which, having small kids now, wish granted, often

Saw, not my cup of tea:

American Hustle
Elysium
Man of Steel
Now You See Me
Snowpiercer
Star Trek Into Darkness
