I just finished watching the Ronald Moore commentary of the last episode of the third season of Battlestar Galactica. So, yes, that means I watched the whole series, and then went back and watched most of the episodes again with the podcast commentary. I guess if I were a better SuperFan I would be watching the fourth season now while it is being broadcast. But I like to binge on TV shows - watching a whole season on DVD over the course of a few days.
What a great show. I am in awe at the job they've done updating the old show. The acting is pretty good; sum greater than the whole of its parts. In particular James Callis brings Gaius Baltar; I believe in his character in every episode, no matter how bizarre the situation.
I didn't like the "All Along The Watchtower" insertions in the last episode. I thought that was heavy handed and would strongly have preferred they just use the Indian music. Really -- "I can't get no relief" does not make for strong TV dialogue. But that's a minor quibble.
I am sad the entertainment gods are only giving me one more season of this to look forward to. Guess I'll have to read some books or something in the meantime.
